About Me

I am a journalist, editor, researcher, and trainer with professional experience of 10 years. I cover conflict, economy, politics, international affairs, and governance. I am the lead Contributing Writer for Nikkei Asia from Pakistan.  

I have extensively covered the Belt and Road Initiative and its Pakistan component China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). My writings have been published in Financial Times, South China Morning Post, Asia Times, and Business Standard, among others. He has also written for Jamestown Foundation, the Center for Strategic and International Studies among others.

I am also a certified trainer by Reporters Without Borders. I conduct training for journalists in the areas of Data Journalism, Digital Journalism, and Digital Security. I am also a Chevening South Asian Journalism Program Fellow and Swedish Institute Youth Connectors of Future Fellow.

 

Balochistan Voices

In February 2016, I founded Balochistan Voices online newspaper. The aim of this publication is to provide media coverage to the pressing issues of Balochistan province, which are ignored by the mainstream media of Pakistan.

 

DigiMAP

In 2020, Balochistan Voices was one of the founding members of the Digital Media Alliance of Pakistan (DigiMAP). It is an alliance of non-legacy independent digital media organizations. Currently, I am the elected Secretary General of DigiMAP for the period 2021-2022.
